Hyperbody would like to proudly invite you to the Msc1 Nanjing Workshop exhibition, which displays the Hyperbody Msc1 project of last semester being designed, fabricated and built in collaboration with the Nanjing Arts Institute during a 4 week workshop in Nanjing, China.
The exhibition will take place in the OostSerre in the faculty of Architecture of TU Delft from Monday November 29th until December 16th and will be featuring video footage of the workshop, posters and a 1:5 scale model of the endresult.

Nanjing Workshop
The general setup for the workshop was to have a collaborative design and build project between Delft University of Technology students and Nanjing Arts Institute students. The assignment for both teams was to develop a combined shape out of their previous design proposals and produce the fabrication drawings for the CNC milling machines as well as build the design on site.
The strategy for both teams individually was to develop a surface which would then be meshed using Rhinoceros, RhinoScript and Grasshopper. The meshing procedure should be strictly related to the connection detail allowing both to be defined parametrically within one and the same system. This approach guarantees the coherence between shape-mesh-detail allowing for changes to be made at all levels at all times during the design process. Also, the results of the workshop show that this approach allows for great diversity in shape, construction and detail while the same logic is applied.
